what are hydrosols?

In the making of essential oils, two products are created: the essential oil itself, and hydrosol. Hydrosol is a steam-distilled extract of specific aromatic plants that contains essential oil, natural fragrance and plant “energetics.” Hydrosols are authentic, highly saturated, aromatheraputic medicinal extracts.

Extracted from leaves and flowers, sage hydrosol is bracing, herbal, and cool. Anti-inflammatory. Astringent. Relieves swelling. Soothes stiff, sore or aching muscles when applied as a mist or compress. Decongestive mist helps clear stuffy nose or sinuses. Useful in overcoming respiratory complaints.
