what are hydrosols?

In the making of essential oils, two products are created: the essential oil itself, and hydrosol. Hydrosol is a steam-distilled extract of specific aromatic plants that contains essential oil, natural fragrance and plant “energetics.” Hydrosols are authentic, highly saturated, aromatheraputic medicinal extracts.

Extracted from leaves, flowers, and berries of the bay tree, bay hydrosol is warming, sunny, winning, and deliciously fragrant. Mildy antiseptic and astringent, it is soothing to roughened, sunburned, or inflamed skin. Keep in kitchen and medicine cabinet to treat minor cuts, scrapes or burns. Spicy scent makes it a wonderful aftershave. Creates an atmosphere of hospitality when misted before guests arrive during holidays and celebrations.
